I’ve got nothing against post-processing, it’s just like a visit to the dark room in the past but I do think that post-processing needs to have a point. Like Megan Baker’s work, post-processing can actually help find the essence of a scene. But for me, at the end of the day I’d still go for natural lighting and a candid smile. This portrait of San San, even though it was posed, has a lovely smile because someone made her laugh just at the right moment. No edits and no forced expressions.
Capturing such moments is what I live for in photography.
